Job Summary

Manage the overall revenue requirement for PSEG Long Island (PSEG LI). Provide technical analysis to develop and gain regulatory approval for Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) revenue requirements, including annual / monthly LIPA and PSEG LI updates, compliance reporting and responding to on-going regulatory data requests in support of regulatory proceeding before the Department of Public Service

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Provide direction to the development and management of PSEG-LI's revenue requirement and coordinate the revenue requirement with LIPA, including strategy and supporting financial analyses for Finance and LIPA. The Plan must be prepared under GAAP and the Public Power Model. Provide support for written testimony and work papers to support regulatory proceedings.
  • On an annual cycle work closely with LIPA, The Rates & Pricing and the Planning and Budgeting team to update the annual LIPA and PSEGLI consolidated Budget,.
  • Responsible for on-going Compliance filings, and other true-up rate calculations,
  • Assist with future compliance needed to support the DPS recommendations..
  • Respond to regulatory data requests from other PSEG LI departments, LIPA, the Department of Public Service and other third parties
  • Develop revenue requirement schedules by cost element for the test year, the bridge year and the rate year
  • -Work directly with all financial groups to ensure a complete understanding of the O&M and Capital costs in the budgets.-Develop ad hoc excel analysis as required to support general decision making for the business

 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

•    A minimum of 8 years of experience in a financial field
•    Experience in preparation, presentation and interpretation of financial performance information, plans and reports to business management teams
•     Demonstrated insight in analyzing and understanding the issues which business is facing today
•    Must demonstrate the ability to present complex ideas or situations in a clear, simple, and easy to understand way to all audiences including business leadership
•    Must have project/program management experience
•    Must demonstrate proficiency in spreadsheet modeling
•    Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communications skills
•    Must have excellent analytical, planning & organization skills
•    Must demonstrate proficiency with spreadsheet modeling and a working knowledge of SAP or other Utility billing, accounting and customer care systems

Desired:
•    Advanced degree in accounting economics or finance.
•    Experience in utility, regulated or energy markets arena preferred.
