IT Supervisor - Monitoring

 

Summary

This position is a direct report to the Manager of IT Operations Support. The Monitoring Support Leader will work in an Agile/DevOps model supervising a team of Information Technology professionals responsible for providing monitoring and first line support for critical IT infrastructure and applications. This position requires strong facilitation skills to sustain the teamwork, coordination and communication required among associates from multiple infrastructure technologies including Helpdesk, End user computing, Midrange technologies, Network technologies and Applications.

 

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of IT professionals that provides 24x7 rotating shift monitoring of the applications, networks and infrastructure components ensuring the highest possible availability and drive timely resolution of incidents or technical escalations to meet established SLA’s.

• Manage and communicate problem resolution and system restoration status during unplanned outage events to LOB and IT Senior Management.

• Lead and support the problem, defect, and incident management processes for production issues.

• Support the release management process by managing and participating in production deployments.

• Meet/Exceed established SLA’s and KPI’s.

• Leverage/Ensure that standards and procedures are established and adhered to.

• Maintain DR/BCP plans to ensure uninterrupted business operations and appropriate levels of redundancy.

• Prepare and manage budget and finances for area of responsibility.

• Strive for operational excellence through continuous improvement.

• Responsible for attracting talent, performance evaluation, career development, coaching and manage compensation.

• Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude/demeanor and discretion.

• Provides support outside of business hours when required.

 

Required Education, Experience and Competencies

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business or a related field with 6+ years relevant experience within the information technology field.

• Demonstrated expertise in IT resource management.

• Proven troubleshooting abilities.

• Ability to proactively communicate technical topics in a clear, succinct and relevant way.

• Proven experience in managing IT cost centers in a large corporate environment.

• Track record as an innovator and agent leading organizations and people through change.

• Strong business acumen, leadership and influence skills. 

• Excellent teamwork, facilitation, relationship building skills.

•This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

 

Desired Education, Experience and Competencies

 • Experience with managing first line resolution functions.

• Familiarity with various real-time system event monitoring tools and technologies.

• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM

• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

• Technical proficiency in information technology/computer disciplines.

• Ability to create both technical and non-technical end-user documentation.

• Advanced degree, e.g. Masters of Business Administration

• Relevant certification such as ITIL, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, etc.
