Job Summary

This position is open to current PSEG employees only.

 

Note: This is a multi-level series (Grade Level 27/28) typically posted at the lowest level.  The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process, as they meet the criteria defined below.

Develop and implement project management information system (PMIS) tools to facilitate enhanced oversight and work planning methodology and to review the project portfolio along with schedule data. Develop, coordinate and maintain work/resource management, scheduling, procurement, and document management methods and databases.
Ensure system work is accomplished with optimal use of both internal and external resources within required timeframes as well as within budget and scope. Work with departmental managers and technical leads to develop workload forecasting using work management system data, historical data, economic indicators, and project schedules. Project management responsibilities include project scope meetings, project update meetings and course correction. 
Assist in project schedule development; Contractor coordination and management; Project management assistance; Integrated scheduling; Performance reporting; Project change management; Risk and Contingency planning.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement standard schedule and risk programs, processes and practices to ensure Design and Construction projects are performed in accordance with approved schedules
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain schedule, resource, procurement, risk and other data within Primavera P6 and other systems / databases and query tools for individual projects and for the project portfolio
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain status and variance reporting and executive dashboards for the schedules for projects, including performance indices, such as SPI and other Key Performance Indices (KPI’s)
  • Analyze schedule information and provide project teams with recommended corrective action to ensure the work meets required in-service dates
  • Prepare detailed schedule reports as required, i.e., critical path view, baseline vs. actual view, look ahead view, milestone view, “what-if” scenarios, etc.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • BS in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Construction, or Business discipline or minimum six years professional business, engineering or construction experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Project Controls concepts (project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, or closeout) field or home office
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Scheduling concepts (schedule development, schedule controls and variance reporting)
  • Full proficiency and experience with Integrated Data Management Tools such as, MS Excel and MS Access; MS Project; and SharePoint and experience with computer applications, including Primavera P6, DWMS and MS Office suite – including strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Capable of delivering technical presentations to project stakeholders and management and communicating plans, ideas, and strategies to key stakeholders, including Company leadership
  • Strong effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Must be a self-starter capable of seeking out project-related information from project stakeholders and possess  leadership skills in order to train and develop others and stand in for Lead Project Controls Engineer, when required
  • Must take personal accountability for actions and results; strive for personal and departmental continuous improvement; focus on measurement of results and demonstrate PSEG Values & Behavior
  • Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history


Desired

  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or MBA
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or in progress
  • Experience in all areas of project management
  • SAP
