Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.

Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.

Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

The Manager Technical Training is responsible for the daily management and organization of the PSE&G Training and Development department. Responsibilities include the management and development of training strategies that reduce the associated training costs across PSE&G while delivering highly functional associates. The Manager Technical Training will be responsible for the development of innovative training approaches which will increase student performance and experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the modernization and strategic direction of technical training programs, ensuring alignment with evolving business and technological needs.
  • Manage the planning, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of performance-based, modern learning solutions including digital platforms, blended learning, and hands-on experiences.
  • Oversee the development and execution of training curriculum, ensuring it addresses key organizational competencies such as Safety, Human Performance, Workforce Behavior, Technical Skills, Customer Experience, and System Skills.
  • Proactively assess long-term training needs across all PSE&G lines of business and implement strategies to meet them effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify training gaps, enhance workforce performance, and develop tailored training strategies that address diverse generational learning needs.
  • Manage training facilities, equipment, materials, and resources, ensuring they support modern methodologies and technological advancements.
  • Partner with leadership to align training initiatives with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and customer service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental laws, employment regulations, and corporate policies, fostering a safe and compliant training environment.
  • Evaluate and enhance instructor, trainee, and program performance, continuously improving training effectiveness based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including outside agencies and third-party training facilities, to augment training services.
  • Effectively manage budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver cost-efficient training solutions while driving process efficiency.
  • Develop and report Balanced Scorecard metrics to senior management, providing insights into training effectiveness and business impact.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, ensuring associates at all levels are equipped to perform efficiently.
  • Design and implement Best Practices within the Training and Development department, driving towards Best-in-Class performance.
  • Oversee and provide leadership for training committees, ensuring alignment with work practices, business needs, and personnel development.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Engineering, Business or related discipline?
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing a Training and Development, Project Management or large/matrixed organization.
  • Possesses theoretical knowledge and understanding of applicable Customer Operations, Electric, Transmission, Gas and Appliance Service processes regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing creative education and training techniques utilizing current technology.• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment with the ability and credibility to work through all levels of the enterprise as a business partner and change agent.
  • Demonstrated experience in challenging work practices and developing a Best-in-Class department.
  • Strong organizational, team and relationship building skills
  • Strong safety advocate for department and company through participation at Safety Councils throughout the company to ensure training practices align.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a key set of performance metrics to drive organizational efficiency
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver License and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Desired

  • Master Degree in Education or related area
  • Demonstrated experience implementing advanced technologies such as virtual reality in a training and development environment.
