Job Summary

PSEG is seeking a summer intern to work with the Utility Health & Safety team. Our team functions include performance measurement, data analysis and trending, safety initiative support and facilitation

 Interns will be able to apply scholastic learning and expand knowledge through professional exposure and experience with best practices, along with cutting edge and fundamental business technology, process thinking and learn how to succeed within a team environment

Candidate should be a rising junior or a rising senior.

Job Responsibilities

The Staff Intern will support the - Health & Safety Compliance team.  Project and duties will include but are not limited to:


1. Procedure/Documentation Updating: Update procedures and other documentation per reviews with Department Managers & Supervisors, ensure alignment throughout the procedure with actions and job responsibilities.

2. Track compliance calendar activities and provide updates to Health & Safety Compliance Team.

3. Worksite inspection results from job Site Safety Exchanges (JSSEs) to look at trends, common gaps, and actions taken.

4. Review and document completion of status safety incident corrective actions.

5. Create inventory of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and PPE hazard assessments by job task.

6. Monitor Nauto exception reports and follow up with respective operations group to take action.

7. Assist with performance reporting activities including data mining, records review and identification of trends.


Job Specific Qualifications

The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's, or Health Sciences, Public/Health Administration, Operations Research, Business, Environmental Science, or similar science major with a focus on Safety. Candidate must have completed sophomore level coursework by the start of the internship program to be considered.  PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education, which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions.  We are targeting: Currently enrolled/matriculating students and able to commute to the assigned work location as needed. Housing, transportation, immigration Support will not be provided in association with these positions.
