Job Summary

NOTE:  This position is currently within Power Fossil Generation.  We expect the Fossil sale to be completed within the next 6-12 months, and it is our expectation, although not a certainty, that in the event of the sale of the Fossil plants, this position will transfer to the buyer. 

 

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing and managing the overall on-line maintenance requirements of the plant site including short and long term business planning, budget development, and O&M management. Responsible for overall management, planning and execution of all outages.  Provides leadership on overall site maintenance activities to assure reliable and safe power generation.

Job Responsibilities

Manage a multi-disciplined workforce comprised of professional and bargaining unit associates in the maintenance of non-nuclear power generation equipment.

  •  Daily supervision, monitoring, coaching, developing, and performance management of employees to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with company policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Work planning, on-the-job training, arranging for maintenance work, inspections, and initiating requisitions for procurement of tools, materials, equipment and parts from vendors and services from contractors.
  • Oversee the storeroom and inventory process, maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and strategic business targets for inventory management
  • Develop and manage the maintenance group's O&M budget and expenditures
  • Adherence to station maintenance budget through cost control measures and optimization of labor utilization and minimization of overtime
  • Execution of scheduled work in the approved work week schedule window and completion of emergent operational needs.
  • Calibration and storage of instrument test and measuring equipment and ensuring personnel are knowledgeable of and in compliance with applicable Standards and Procedures.
  • Participate in station and Fossil dept. strategic planning initiatives, Aggressively support streamlined maintenance program to lower operating and maintenance costs and meet reliability goals. 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills, Comepetencies, Education, and Experience: 

  • BS in an Engineering discipline or 8-10 years relevant power plant experience including: 
    • 5 years experience in power generation or outage management
    • 3-5 years supervisory/managerial experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar experience
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP Plant Maintenance modules or similar work management applications
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and cost reporting
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of industrial operations
  • Knowledge of State, Federal, and Local government regulations as they apply to power plant operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of complex projects with conflicting priorities while controlling costs and assuring quality

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) cerrtification
