Summary

Experience the personal challenge of working for a world class organization and leader in the utilities and energy industry as an Automotive and Equipment Mechanic in our Fleet Services Department on Long Island, New York.  Our Fleet Department has openings for experienced automotive and/or equipment mechanics with a strong knowledge of the following automotive skills:

Job Duties & Responsibilities

This position is Night Shift (M - F) in Bridgehampton 3:30 PM (16:00) - 11:30AM (23:30)

Duties:

  • Independently perform the highest skilled work in the diagnosing, testing, inspection, maintenance, repair or adjustment of all wheeled, tracked, towed or fixed   equipment in the fleet, including all component parts and systems.
  • Independently perform all inspections and repairs of the above as may be required by Federal, State or Local requirements, including periodic and special inspections of aerial devices and other comparable equipment or apparatus.
  • Must be fully qualified as an Automotive & Equipment Mechanic.
  • Perform less skilled work as may be required.​

Job Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of experience as a fleet maintenance technician.
  • Ability to diagnose and correct all vehicle systems, including but not limited to: diesel, fuel injection, electronic ignition, power hydraulic systems, ABC, CNG, OBDII, electronic engine controls, etc.
  • Class A commercial driver's license, D.O.T. Medical Cerification, and NYS Inspection license.
  •  Must be capable of obtaining tank, hazardous material endorsement within 180 days.
