Job Responsibilities

Directly manage the operational chemistry programs in order to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant.  Maintain all aspects of the Chemistry programs or Operational chemistry or Environmental/Radwaste including all planning, budgetary, and regulatory aspects of the programs.  Manage supervisors, specialists and technicians in support of plant operational needs according to industry standards. This includes coaching and mentoring, reinforcing the fundamentals, scheduling, and maintaining working files.  Accountable for the in-field application of policies and procedures relating to Chemistry programs. Is responsible for assuring that the Chemistry Department maintains a strong program through proper monitoring, assessments, and evaluation of Chemistry data.  Accountable for in-field application of policies and procedures related to operational and laboratory Chemistry and directly manage the Chemistry First Line Supervisors (FLSs) activities in their daily support of plant operations and maintenance activities. Responsible for departmental tactical and strategic initiatives including department budget, outage planning, project planning/support, contractor oversight, and individual development plans for all direct reports.  Responsible for assuring that the Chemistry Department maintains a strong program through proper monitoring, assessments, and evaluation of Chemistry data.  Responsible for peer meetings, benchmarking, and industry involvement to ensure industry best practices and standards are implemented across the PSEG Fleet. 

 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

-Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related science.

-Minimum of 8 years power plant experience in Operations or Chemistry, including 5 years in a commercial Nuclear facility/environment.    

-Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.

-Must meet and maintain Nuclear's requirements for unescorted plant access.

Desired:

-Senior Reactor Operator, previously or currently licensed or certified.

Education

Bachelor in Chemistry
Bachelors in Science or Engineering
