Job Summary

The overall mission of Component Engineering is to take proactive and effective measures to improve equipment reliability, reduce Operating and Maintenance (O&M) cost and prevent plant challenges due to component failures. Component engineer will provide technical direction and administrative reviews of procedures, 10CFR50.59 reviews and technical evaluations. Respond to management inquiries and provide responses to key stakeholders, audits and reviews.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate execution of Life Cycle Management (LCM) / Long Term Asset Management (LTAM) component maintenance strategies, provide component expertise/oversight during troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective actions, monitor and improve component health, provide technical oversight to off-site vendors refurbishing components, and develop, implement, and maintain component-oriented programs.
  • Assure conduct of Components Engineering activities are in compliance with facility license, company and government regulations in support of safe and efficient operations of the station.
  • Review and give appropriate prioritization to work backlog and ensure that components health plans are maintained and effectively drive components health maintenance and improvements.
  • Implement Equipment Reliability Initiatives, including motivating the correct behaviors to promote results-oriented Equipment Reliability and support plant outages.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities and adaptive ways of doing business.
  • Ability to drive site improvement to achieve sustained excellent performance
  • Responsibility to ensure that these Components for PSEG Nuclear meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and are achieving / approaching industry best practice.

Job Specific Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • BS Degree in Engineering / BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1 - 5 years nuclear or related industry engineering experience.
  • Excellent Communication skills.   
  • Available for shift work during plant outages and as required.
  • Familiar with INPO Components Engineering / Equipment Reliability  
  • Must Meet and Maintain Nuclear unescorted plant access.

 DESIRED:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in multiple nuclear plant engineering disciplines (i.e. systems, design, and programs) and Ten (10) years industry experience.
  • Ability to manage projects, familiar with INPO AP-913 (Nuclear's Equipment Reliability) and AP928 (Work Management Process).
