Job Duties & Responsibilities

DUTIES:
 See Duty Scope of Occupational Group
1. Conduct assigned work so that personnel and the public are safeguarded at all times.
2. Perform tests assigned to the group following prescribed procedures and verified by Laboratory & Testing Services.
3. Obtain clearance in the field and make necessary arrangements for the performance of the work. Confirm arrangements prior to leaving Laboratory & Testing Services.
4. Modify test procedures, apparatus, set-ups, and methods, and computer applications to meet requirements for tests.
5. Instruct assigned personnel.
6. Perform a variety of non-routine tests and inspections, as instructed, making a complete test set-up.
7. Inspect, clean, adjust, calibrate and repair all test instruments and
equipment used in the work in the Facility and field to assure instrumentation is operating properly and with prescribed accuracy.
8. Witness and approve tests and examinations of equipment, components and materials, normally tested by division personnel, in manufacturers' plants, and other locations or those conducted by other testing agencies.
9. Develop and write reports, perform and check computations on tests and investigations for completeness and accuracy.
10. Operate any Company vehicles for which they are qualified.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must meet the Company's "General Requirements"; and, in addition: 

1. Must have completed technical training equivalent to two* years of college.

2. Must have a working knowledge and be able to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the operation and application of the instruments, test equipment, computers, and test methods used in the work. 

3. Must have a basic working knowledge and be able to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the principles of science and engineering as they apply to the work (such as thermodynamics, heat cycles, heat power, physics, chemistry, electricity, materials  science, etc.).  

4. Must be a careful and thorough worker and be able to exercise good judgment.  

5. Must possess the skill and knowledge necessary for certification(s) to the required level in all pertinent test disciplines.  

6. Must meet all training required in order to perform the duties of the position such as  unescorted access to vital areas in nuclear plants.   

* Must have completed technical training equivalent to three years of college to progress beyond pay step "I".

Desired:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA), ETT Certified Technician Level 3 
  • Experience working in High Voltage Testing
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Knowledge of SAP
