Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing first-line supervision and direction to the QA Inspectors (Non-Union hourly) and represented employees in the 24/7 operation of the Nuclear Material Center and other warehouse locations across the site.  It includes the effective implementation of the Company-Union labor agreement for represented employees to include Chief Stockhandlers, 12 hour Shift Stockhandlers, Day Stockhandlers and Station Drivers, representing a total of eighteen employees.  The position directs, rewards and disciplines the union employees though daily face-to-face interaction.   The supervisor also assures the timely and effective performance of assigned work by four trained and qualified personnel using approved procedures and work practices.  Active involvement in the Corrective Action process and formal and informal assessment programs is also part of the supervisory responsibilities.  Management of the employee relations and industrial relations of the group, including performance management is also part of this job.  The position is responsible to direct employees in all activities relating to the processing, control, and accountability of inventory materials valued at ~$200M.  Responsibilities also include desk guide, process compliance, procedure updates, and upkeep of all material handling equipment through the PM program.  The position also has a focus on improving organizational safety, culture and communication.     

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide first line supervision and direction to both the QA Inspectors and the represented employees in the warehouse in all activities related to processing, control and accountability of inventory materials.
  • In the absence of the Warehouse Superintendent, assumes the responsibility of that role.
  • Manage the employee relations and industrial relations of the group, including performance management.  Complete and deliver all performance appraisals; monitor quals; administer progressive discipline; attendance and time keeping for all employees. Effectively implement the Company-Union labor agreement for represented employees.
  • Implement and maintain maintenance program for stored materials, pumps, motors, circuit cards.  Develop and Implement performance indicators and operational performance gaps relative to the Warehouse and QA Inspections.
  • Participate in material center audits and perform physical inventory and cycle counts.  Run reports, organizing, assigning, oversee process.

 

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in Supply Chain/Warehouse Operations
  • Experience organizing and managing tasks
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • 3 years experience in supervision (Union and Non-Union)
  • Proficient in SAP & Microsoft Office Applications 
  • Must acquire and maintain Unescorted Site Access.

Desired:

  • AA/AS in Management/Business,
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related discipline.
