Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor

 

The Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for:

  • Providing first level supervision of represented employees in accordance with the Company/Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and Work Standards.
  • Provide oversight to the direct repairs of equipment in the plant.
  • Assure timely and effective performance of assigned maintenance by trained and qualified personnel using approved procedures and work practices.
  • Assure station maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with PSEG personnel and safety policies by complying with administrative and technical procedures and work rules.
  • Administer personnel activities by conducting fair and effective implementation of the Company/Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and PSEG policies, practices and procedures.
  • Demonstration of leadership qualities in the performance of day-to-day duties.
  • Perform supervisory duties, which include conducting personnel evaluations, hiring, disciplinary and discharge recommendations.
  • Work on a shift rotation.

 

Other functions of the Nuclear Maintenance Supervisor may be to perform additional responsibilities under Performance Improvement. While in this role the responsibilities include: Developing human performance and maintenance communications, communicating performance issues through face to face or written communications, review performance issues and identify commonalities, evaluate common cause issues on maintenance performance and development of actions plans, identify training improvement opportunities, perform field observations, participate on Human Performance Review Boards & Steering Committees, engage in plant self-assessments and industry benchmarking, event investigations, etc.

 

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2-4 years of operating plant experience, including one year of nuclear specific experience as well as Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation and Controls experience.
  • Must meet and maintain Nuclear's requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
  • Must pass a First Line Supervisor‘s Test (FLST) unless presently and directly supervising PSEG (i.e. responsible for performance review) blue collar, operating department/ represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory positon for which the test was validated.

 

Desired:

  • Current or previous SRO Certification/License, demonstrated supervisory experience in the Nuclear industry, and have experience in directing bargaining unit personnel

 

The work associated with this position requires that the Company provide you with access to Part 810-Controlled Information.  Under the law, the Company is limited in who it can share this information with and in certain circumstances it is necessary to obtain specific authorization before the Company can share this information.  Accordingly, to be eligible for this position you will be required to complete a 10 CFR Part 810 Export Control Compliance Nationality Request Form, a copy of which will be provided to you by Talent Acquisition if an offer is made.  If there is a need for specific authorization, due to the time it takes to obtain authorization from the government, we will likely not be able to further proceed with an offer.
