Job Summary
The Engineering Services (ES) Engineer reports to the Engineering Services Manager Plant/Design to provide technical support for the Power Uprate Project for Salem Units 1 and 2 to achieve project scope, schedule, budget and safety goals consistent with Nuclear and Station goals and regulatory requirements.
We are hiring for multiple positions. Candidate will be considered for the following areas of focus based on experience.
Job Responsibilities
Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Engineer (Position Disciplines: Design, System, Controls, Safety Analysis): Engineers will perform the following responsibilities in support of the project portfolio:
- Fulfill Lead Responsible Engineers role for all required plant modifications and be accountable for the design “cradle to grave”.
- Interface with the project stakeholders including OPS, Chemistry WM, Maintenance, engineering programs, Fire Department, Emergency Preparedness, Licensing and Environmental
- Manage technical teams of suppliers
- Perform Owners Acceptance Reviews for Design analysis, modification package, procurement specifications
- Establish system performance requirements for Factory Acceptance Testing and Modification Acceptance Testing
- Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
- Provide field support during modifications walkdowns, installation and testing
- Support plant safety analysis
Balance Of Plant (BOP) Engineer (Position Disciplines: Commissioning, System, Design, Thermal Performance, Turbine, Generator): Engineers will perform the following responsibilities in support of the project portfolio:
- Assess the required scope of work and exploring various alternative solutions
- Sponsor plant mods through the plant approval process
- Fulfill the role of the system lead engineers for all required modifications
- Ensure adequate systems integration and fulfilling the role of plant systems subject matter experts
- Support required Preventive maintenance and Surveillance Program
- Identify Critical Spare parts
- Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes aspects.
- Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing
Job Specific Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering or related technical degree with 13 years performing related Engineering work in a nuclear or related industry (including experience in specific discipline)
- Work effectively with a team to achieve team goals.
- Support or manage large-scale plant modifications.
- Independently multi-task and resolve conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated Communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills including Microsoft product usage (Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Must meet and maintain Nuclear's requirements for unescorted site access.
DESIRED:
- Project Management experience and/or certification
- Prior power uprate experience
- Design Engineering - configuration control qualification
- System engineering/test engineer experience and/or qualification
- Experience in PWR NSSS design and operational safety analysis and limitations
- PWR SRO license or Certification
- PE license
