Job Summary

Provides on-site regulatory compliance support, as assigned and consistent with regulatory assurance and site priorities.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Serves as station process owner and administrator for assigned processes that directly affect plant operations or the design and licensing basis of the Station ( including the UFSAR, Technical Specifications, Technical Specifications Bases, and the Surveillance Frequency Control Program;). Provide regulatory compliance support in the areas of 50.59; tech spec interpretations; reportability determinations, operability determinations; and use of regulatory guidance. Interface as assigned with the NRC and station management in support of routine activities, baseline inspections, and special inspections, and ensure timely response to NRC resident inspectors and other NRC staff from regional offices or headquarters. As required, provides the necessary interface with outside organizations (NRC, NEIL, ANI, NJ BNE, NSRB, INPO, and other external agencies and stakeholders). Coordinates case management activities to ensure timely response to NRC Resident Inspector, regional, or NRR regulatory issues. Supports station preparation and communications for NRC routine and team inspections, management meetings, regulatory conferences, and other meetings such as ANI/NEIL or NSRB. Supports plant operations and engineering activities by providing regulatory/licensing insights, reviews and coordination. Effectively develops and coordinates LERs, NOEDs, exemption requests, and other site specific written communications required to support the station. Develops, implements, and maintains procedures for assigned activities. Prepare, review, and submit station and NRC Performance Indicators. Possess a working level knowledge of industry regulatory working groups and when/how to be engaged.

 

Job Specific Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or physical science.
  • Minimum of seven years of nuclear experience  with in-depth knowledge of reactor systems design and operation, technical specifications, UFSAR, and applicable portions of the Code of Federal Regulations. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must meet and maintain PSEG Nuclear’s requirements for unescorted plant access.


DESIRED:

  • SRO Certification or previous license (RO or SRO).
  • Previous licensing or compliance experience desirable.
  • Familiarity with the NRC website including ADAMS and NRC documents (RIS, Information Notices, Inspection Manual, Enforcement Manual, other generic communications, etc.), as well as other industry guidance (such as NEI guidance).
  • Previous experience with industry working group(s) preferable.
