Job Summary
PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 Technical Intern for the Nuclear Innovation Team.
This job involves working as a(n) Intern for the Innovation team. A Technical Intern with the right skill set such as proficiency in Power BI, Python and Visual Basic will provide an excellent low-cost opportunity for the Nuclear Fleet to quickly advance its data and analytics and process automation goals at a much greater rate and is a cost-effective solution versus paying a contractor or vendor to perform these services. PSEG Nuclear Innovation has more projects in the areas of Process Automation and Data and Analytics than the current team capacity and is requesting an Intern to assist in moving these projects forward to assist the Fleet with optimizing its resources to perform more value-added work.
This position will be Hybrid Flexible.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
- Advocating and promoting a continuous improvement/innovation culture throughout PSEG Nuclear to support the PSEG Nuclear Fleet Strategic Goals. This could include conducting presentations, providing informal training, performing assessments, sending out communications, meeting with various departments/individuals to promote and solicit new ideas for innovation/continuous improvement opportunities, etc.
- Developing communications, presentations and other various continuous improvement/innovation reports for PSEG Corporate, PSEG Nuclear, Senior and Executive Leaders or other key stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining the innovation/continuous improvement process along with any supporting policies/procedures/documents/tracking tools/software applications for PSEG Nuclear.
- Developing, maintaining and tracking of the innovation/continuous improvement program results and/or metrics for PSEG Nuclear.
- Identification of opportunities, projects, initiatives for innovation/continuous improvement for PSEG Nuclear.
- Developing, participating in, or leading other innovation/continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by the Manager of Innovation.
- Support the Innovation team by sharing duties/responsibilities/workload to ensure the overall success of the team in meeting its commitments and goals.
Job Specific Qualifications
- The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution; Majors include: Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Nuclear, Computer, Software, Technology), Business Administration, Computer Science or Data Science, and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029.
- Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026.
- PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
- Incumbents must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration.
- Ability to develop entry level Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Should be located within reasonable travel time to PSEG Nuclear facilities located at Hancocks Bridge, NJ.
- Proficient in the use of other Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry.
- Must meet and maintain nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access.
- A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027.
- Compliance with the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Incumbent are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
