Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for set up, activation, and administration of interval meters in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS). 
• Responsible for data communications, retrieval, processing, analysis, and reporting of metering information to support customer engagement, billing, load research, and other operating processes.
• Support field personnel, maintain system integrity and equipment reliability,
• Develop and manage internal operation guidelines and procedures for the section.
• Responsible for providing billing reads from the Meter Data Management (MDM) to the Customer Accounting System (CAS) billing systems.
• Responsible for investigating AMI communications and metering malfunctions with support from Measurement Services technicians via phone calls from the field. 
• Troubleshoot AMI RF network Over the Air using the RF tools and checking the technical meter configurations for data integrity.
• Conducts special investigations, data-mining, and studies concerning performance, safety, revenue integrity, and system reliability.
• Develop and manage ongoing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to improve operations.
• Acts as a consultant to other departments on matters of revenue metering and associated communications.
• Perform Validation, Estimation, Editing in the meter data management system
• Responsible for Exception Management - meter communications, billing, web portal
• Responsible to support AMI and MDM system enhancements as a subject matter expert.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Data Analytics.  In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of customer service, utility or project management experience
• Demonstrated strong analytical ability, critical thinking, communications, presentation skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively with internal customers, management, staff, and vendors
• Must demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following:  Microsoft Office tools Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Projects, Visio
• Candidate must be adaptable and results-oriented
• Must be a team player and foster an inclusive work environment with respect for all aspects of diversity.

Desired

• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Knowledge of tableau or any other business intelligence tools
• Familiarity with Utility Tariffs and Regulations
• Knowledge and understanding of CAS/EBO and billing processes
• Knowledge of Electric Meter Billing Data
• Knowledge of AMI and MDM systems
• Strong knowledge of electric utility or similar industry practices.

 This position has a career path which provides for promotional opportunities within and across grades as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.

This is a multi-level growth series position, the title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.

If an internal candidate is selected they will move laterally at their current grade level and will not be eligible for a promotion at the time of accepting this position. This applies to candidates moving within the same career path (e.g., analyst, supervisor, engineer), or to a different career path (e.g., analyst to engineer, supervisor to analyst). The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be promoted within the career path during an annual review.
