Job Summary

This opportunity is open to current PSEG employees only.

This position is responsible for assisting in the financial planning process for PSE&G.  

Job Responsibilities

•    Assist in the Utility financial five and ten year planning processes in the corporate financial planning model.

•    Provide inputs for the one-year SAP plan and reconcile variances between that and the corporate planning model

•    Lead input and analysis of capital and O&M assumptions for plan updates; provide insight into the financial impacts of assumptions updates and effectively communicate results to management.

•    Lead the analysis of the Transmission formula rate process, including capital inputs into the annual filing, monthly revenue true-ups, and long-range revenue planning.

•    Become an expert in financial systems and assist in the transition from the legacy Cognos system to Oracle planning.

•    Develop financial reports and insight for senior management of the Utility. Participate in strategic studies, e.g. business portfolio analysis, impact of new ventures, and other enhancement opportunities.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required: 

•    BS/BA degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
•    Understanding of financial statements.
•    Financial analysis or financial modeling experience, some knowledge of financial theory and accounting. 
•    Ability to manage multiple resources within and outside of the department. 
•    Proficient in advanced excel. 
•    Good planning and organizing skills 
•    Key competencies include:

o    Fnancial modeling and analysis, leadership, problem solving, 
o    Industry knowledge and excellent oral and written communication skills,
o    Experience in financial and operating planning and analysis.  

•    Ability to build and maintain key relationships internally to accomplish goals and objectives.  


Desired:  

•    BS/BA Degree in Finance or Accounting
•    Understanding of utility regulatory finance and accounting concepts
•    SAP experience
•    Cognos / Oracle experience
