Job Summary
At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.
This position manages PSEG’s Corporate Emergency Management (CEM) Program and provides planning and operational support to the Company’s Corporate Emergency Management Committee, working under a Corporate Charter, and under the auspices of the Chief Operating Officer of PSEG.
Position coordinates activities with operational tactical emergency response organizations, outside the Company, as well as across all PSEG lines of business, and maintains a state of readiness, to effectively manage any emergent crisis or interruption of normal business operations facing PSEG – from either natural or contrived events. Brings unity and formidability to the design, development, execution, and maintenance of the company’s Corporate Emergency Management (CEM) Program.
The position is also responsible for the Department’s “Records Management” activities in accordance with Enterprise Practice 105-1. As well as the maintenance of records and annual renewal process associated with Corporate Security’s Department of Homeland Security, Safety Act Designation.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervises the activities and work of three employees in NJ and coordinates CEM related activities with one employee in LI
- Coordinates activities with operational tactical emergency response organizations, outside of the Company, as well as across all PSEG lines of business, and maintains a state of readiness, to effectively manage any emergent crisis or interruption of normal business operations facing PSEG – from either natural or contrived events
- Coordinates the preparation of Practices, Instructions, Directives, and other life-safety and emergency response documents; plans program testing/drills and associated budgeting; designs annual testing for Executives who are members of the Executive Crisis Management Team (ECMT); schedules live, and desktop testing; performs root-cause analyses of adverse events as required; develops and delivers training (including SET and other Executives); plans and conducts drills and exercises; designs and develops an organized, emergency response mechanism through which (Officer-level) decision makers will, in the face of adversity, arrive at the best courses of action.
- Develops tabletop training scenarios for bi-annual ECMT exercises, ensuring timely and sure-footed execution of strategic business plans.
- Provides leadership and regular interface with SET/Officers/executives/managers who have roles during corporate crises, or interruptions of normal business
- Functions as the Company’s singular subject matter expert on matters relating to Crisis Management, Business Continuity Planning, Emergency Response, Life-Safety & Evacuation, and Disaster Recovery.
- Provides planning and operational support to the Company’s Corporate Emergency Management Committee while working under a Corporate Charter.
- Maintains keen familiarity with Homeland Security programs, intelligence collection and analysis, asset protection techniques, and contract guard force management concepts.
- Respond to emergencies and perform duties associated with CS&P’s On-Duty Office
- Coach and provide training at all levels, including SET

Job Specific Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Homeland Security, Business Management, Information Technology, Disaster Management, Computer Science or related field
- Five to ten years Emergency Management and/ or Business Continuity Planning experience
- Completed or in the process of completing the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Professional Development Series (PDS), along with ICS 100, 200, 300, and 700
- Experience with emergency notification systems, as well as proprietary radio networks
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Technical skills related to PSEG’s business environment, e.g., Incident Command System (ICS
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, in an often times ambiguous environment, and under pressure due to emergency circumstances

- Knowledge of command and control principles, including Incident Command System (ICS) certification and the development of ICS planning and operational documents

- Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required
Desired - Master’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field
- 10+ years experience in emergency management / business continuity planning /crisis management/disaster recovery/ emergency planning
- Completed the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s, Advanced Professional Series (APS)Certification in Disaster Recovery
- Planning or Emergency Infrastructure
- Preparedness by an industry recognized body
- Certified Business Continuity Professional
