Job Summary

This position reports to PSEG’s Managing Counsel – Federal Regulatory and is responsible for advising and representing the PSEG Companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and other federal agencies and provides day-to-day advice on federal regulatory matters, including transmission policy/rates, market design and compliance issues.  The position also provides legal support in connection with RTO/ISO stakeholder proceedings and committees and in ongoing Transmission Owner working groups.

Please note, this position may be located in Newark, New Jersey or Washington, DC; work will be hybrid/remote

Job Specific Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school in the United States
  • Admitted to the bar in at least one state or the District of Columbia
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working on regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state commissions and/or at an RTO/ISO or similar experience

  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Legal analytical ability
  • Professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer/client focus
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a member of a diverse team, both with respect to internal and external teams

Desired Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Experience in proceedings at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and/or state utility commissions
  • Experience with in-house corporate law department, law firm, regulatory agency or RTO/ISO
  • Experience with FERC/RTO transmission rates, planning, policy and strategy issues
  • Experience with FERC and RTO/ISO markets rules and issues Experience with compliance issues, including affiliate rules, standards of conduct, NERC and/or CFTC
