Job Summary

Work as an engineer in Electric and Gas Asset Strategy within the Asset Management and Centralized Services organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices as well as data analytics acquired through progressive experience.

Job Responsibilities

Works with PSE&G’s Electric Asset Strategy team to define strategic long term asset management focus for Electric Transmission, Substation and Distribution by integrating condition based maintenance, probability, risk, reliability centered maintenance techniques in order to optimize repair and replacement decisions and improve reliability. 
• Assist other team members on projects for analyzing financial risk and budgets for future periods, integration of outside plant, inside plant, transmission overhead and underground lifecycle strategies, Transmission & Distribution (T&D) System reliability analysis, T&D System Health and Risk Management and T&D System Maintenance strategies and plans. 
• This position requires engineering as well as data analytic skills. 
• As an employee of PSE&G, you should be aware that during storm/outage restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and your regular work schedule. 
• You may also be required to work in an alternate location.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• At 2-5 years of electrical utility or plant experience and knowledge of electrical substations and switching stations equipment, e.g., transformers, circuit breakers, medium voltage switchgear, regulators, capacitor banks, disconnect switches and associated electrical system for switching and substations and or outside plant electric distribution and/or transmission systems.
• Ability to verify and cleans integrity of data for analysis.
• Must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be results-oriented.
• Strong analytical and customer / client skills.
• Ability to Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in real time or relational data sets.
• Ability to import, cleanse, transform, validate and/or model data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data to drive business decisions.
• Ability to present data in charts, graphs & tables.
• Ability to work independently or within a team.
• On call 24/7 every 6 weeks to assist during system emergency situations.
• Must have a valid U. S. driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record


Desired:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of electric/gas transmission and distribution systems.
• .NET experience (VB or C++)
• Knowledge of OSIsoft data historian and PI technology stack.
• Experience with SAP PM Module, CAD, OMS and other operational databases.
