Job Summary
Work as an Engineer in the Renewables and Energy Efficiency organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and energy engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive field and academic experience. Job is to provide engineering support for energy efficiency and demand response projects programs for various energy efficiency programs, with a primary focus on the managing activities related to the participation of energy efficiency and demand response resources in the PJM Interconnection capacity market This includes the technical evaluation of resources to offer in the market, the estimation of resource quantities, and direct interaction with PJM and its platforms to ensure all rules and processes are followed. The position will require close collaboration with all program teams to ensure PJM rules and processes are followed. Position will also be responsible for active participation on PJM committees and other work groups related to Energy Efficiency, Demand Response and other related activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Interface with PSEG associates, vendors, customers and outside consultants to assure the PJM Program rules and requirements are maintained and regulatory reporting is accurate and timely.
- Track all milestones and deadlines needed to comply with PJM rules and processes related to auctions and ensure the Company is compliant and meets deadlines.
- Review, analyze, and assess the cost and performance claims of emerging clean energy technologies and services.
- Utilize a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices, including financial and cost management, acquired through progressive experience.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
- BS Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience PJM markets or other RTO markets.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Residential, Commercial & Industrial energy savings measures and techniques.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills on critical projects or initiatives
- Ability to review or perform complex energy savings analysis, energy modeling and analyze measurement and verification data
- Ability to work independently on most technical issues and also work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of demand side management, response strategies, and various energy efficiency programs.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving, analytical thinking, decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be results-oriented.
- Ability to write and speak concisely
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & MS Word)
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record
Desired:
- Advanced skills in Excel such as complex formulas and VBA Macros
- Knowledge of Energy Efficiency and Demand Response participation in the PJM capacity market
- Experience with building energy simulation software such as Equest, EnergyPlus, Trace/Trane
