Job Summary

Important role in the centralized performance improvement group responsible for setting policy, establishing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Value Stream Management throughout the Service Company and PSEG. Develops and sets the CI team internal Operational Excellence to work across all initiatives to track cost efficiencies, risk reduction and creation of headroom.

Job Responsibilities

Work with senior management and businesses associates to address the company’s Value Stream business process pain points. Project initiatives include, but are not limited to, cost management, performance efficiency, process development, regulatory compliance, ownership/alignment, building governance models to ensure process compliance, risk reduction and other operational initiatives, in addition to include large scale transformational projects focused on supporting the company’s core business results. Uses a Value Stream Management framework to help drive PSEG value by high level formal lifecycle process tenants of 1) Strategic Alignment 2) Governance 3) Change Management 4) Process Model 5) Process Performance 6) Process Improvement 7) Tools & Technology.

Develops and implements programs to establish and maintain quality standards for existing processes and services, and develops programs to focus employees on quality improvement at all levels. Supports policies, procedures, training standards, and metrics to monitor significant process and/or operational metrics and improve same.

Delivers business and process solutions that will enable the company to maintain its high performance, business leadership position in Operational Excellence, Financial Strength, and Disciplined Investment.

 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other highly analytical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process development, performance efficiency and/or continuous improvement or equivalent experience.
• Green belt certified with technical mastery of Lean Six Sigma and Value Stream Management, as well as other process improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience developing staff, coaching and mentoring green belts; inspiring other team members to give their best effort and setting the direction for many initiatives and acting as role model for Enterprise for continuous improvement, collaboration, and inclusion.
• Demonstrated project management skills (ability to successfully execute projects, balancing the need for time and high-quality results:  drive results, foresight, goal setting) and ability to work multiple projects simultaneously (PMI Certification a plus). 
• Demonstrated strong quantitative and analytical capabilities. 
• Demonstrated successful experience in driving change management. 
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills (including negotiation and problem solving) 
• Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data leveraging analytical tools and statistics 
• Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement teams , and coach continuous improvement facilitators.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment with others on sensitive issues. 
• Demonstrated ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities, take initiative, and using integrity and professionalism to accomplish difficult tasks through other people. 
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 


Desired Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:

• Master’s degree
• Six sigma black belt certified and experience with both the delivery and deployment of business transformation projects.
