This position is a direct report to the Director IT Process and Business Operations and responsible for managing all aspects of the Quality Assurance / Quality Control function including establishing, communicating and reinforcing standards and guidelines, as well as ensuring the quality of all systems development projects. Directs a team of information technology Quality Assurance / Quality Control professionals responsible for providing the IT department with the necessary support to achieve department goals. The QA / QC group works closely and coordinates projects with IT teams, vendors and stakeholders.

The Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manager is accountable for all aspects of development and testing processes, including:

 

•Oversight of the design and execution of effective test plans, test cases, user scenarios, test scripts and procedures,
•Oversight of the acceptance testing of new or modified systems in an environment of diverse development platforms, computing environments, software, hardware technology and tools,
•Design, development, continuous improvement, training and maintenance of the processes necessary for the delivery of cost effective projects.
•Benchmark the performance of external companies for the purpose of improving performance and identifying innovative solutions. Develop and maintain a repository of best practices, work products, deliverables and templates.

Required Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:

•Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least eight, typically ten or more years of experience in systems analysis and programming and QA, or without a Bachelor’s degree, at least 12 – 15 years of experience in systems analysis and programming and QA.
•In-depth knowledge of QA procedures, principles and tools and a broad knowledge of system and technology alternatives.
•Excellent understanding of and experience in IT project management methodologies, requirements management, and IT processes.
•Six to eight years of implementation and project management experience managing projects from conception to successful implementation.
•Commanding knowledge of the technical and business issues in any of the following areas: Applications or Infrastructure Architecture, Systems Development, Project or Product Management and Operations/Production support.
•Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment.
•Excellent consultative skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation, with the ability to communicate with all management levels.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, communications skills, and presentation skills.
•Ability to develop solid working relationships with individuals, peers, staff and management in areas of IT by understanding their perspectives and issues.
•Excellent analytical ability and problem solving skills.
•Strong leadership skills.
•Excellent judgment and decision making skills.
•Ability to foster and develop a positive team environment.
•Demonstrated ability to utilize continuous process improvement techniques
•Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies and QA Best Practices

Desired Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:


•Graduate degree or MBA.
•Project Management certification.
•Demonstrated experience in facilitating multiple constituents with diverse opinion
•SEI-CMM Level 2 and skills and competencies
•* SQE, QC, TD, QTP & LR other testing certifications
•Experience in developing and maintaining automated testing environments
