Job Summary

The Manager Technical Support – Appliance Service is responsible for the daily management of the Appliance Service Technical Support (ASTS) Team, in providing technical services and operational support to Asset Management and Gas Operations.  This individual will work across organizations in both direct and liaison roles to ensure ongoing operational success in the following functional areas:
•Operational Compliance
•Gas Operations Technical Support
•Materials, Tools, and Equipment
•Gas Appliance Troubleshooting and Repair
•Emergence Response
•Utility Service Work

Job Responsibilities

•Develop, implement and improve standards and procedures for the construction, maintenance and repair of gas meter set equipment, including pressure regulators.
•Develop and incorporate best practices for repairing customer gas utilization equipment and performing utility service work activities.
•Develop and approve new materials and methods to increase safety and efficiency, and reduce the cost of appliance service operations.
•Resolve complex problems and the root cause analysis of material/equipment failures.
•Develop and maintain subject matter expertise level of competency in the area of operator compliance and qualification activities related to appliance service work activities.
•Provide appliance service procedure related oversight toward compliance to applicable federal/state codes, regulations.
•Develop and deliver non-routine technical training.
•Represent the Company position on standards and procedures for industry, regulatory agencies, on technical and standards committees and in matters of litigation.
•Provide direction and leadership for technical group including planning workforce and skill requirements and developing group strategies and goals.
•Manage internal interfaces and enhance group effectiveness by resolving disputes and removing roadblocks.
•Ensure compliance with corporate environmental, health, & safety requirements.


 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Science or Business Management.
•8-10 years’ experience in gas technical support and/or Appliance Service operations.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively write and establish procedures.
•Demonstrated effectiveness in problem-solving and decision-making, strong planning and organizing skills.
•Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze risks, recommend sound corrective measures.
•Strong safety advocate for department and company.
•Must possess a valid Driver’s License. 
•Must possess and use strong oral and written communication skills.
•Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus.
