This is a "Project" position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future, at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment

Primary duties include:

  • providing management oversight of scope, schedule and budget of the Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Programs, primarily focusing on Direct Install projects to ensure compliance with the BPU Order and compliance with PSEG procedures.
  • Ensure program requirements are properly implemented and instituted in the project execution plan. Support program forecasting, budgetary and regulatory filings.
  • Provide financial, analytical and project management expertise to support the achievement of business goals and strategic objectives as part of PSE&G's Renewables & Energy Solutions group. Integrate financial and operational information to add value to the business and communicate such information to various PSE&G personnel.

 

Daily Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the processes for implementing energy efficiency projects within the PSE&G energy efficiency programs, with primary focus within the Direct Install Program.
  • Interface with PSE&G associates and outside consultants to assure the Program rules and requirements are maintained, the projects are cost effective and the information needed for management and regulatory reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate and direct the activities of contracted engineering firms that provide technical support to the programs
  • Compile data from various projects / sources to monitor the status of customer projects and report to management. Projects may include the installation of various energy conservation measures (ECMs) such as HVAC, lighting, motors, energy management systems, etc.
  • Coordinate PSE&G activities based on status of customer projects, including:
  • Analyze performance results for monthly reports
  • Provide updated forecast for business unit through coordination of program managers
  • Perform field visits to audit vendor progress and quality.
  • Review and provide input on Measurement and Verification activities
  • Utilize SAP for customer information
  • Working knowledge of the Energy Star Benchmarking / Portfolio Manager
  • Use of custom designed reporting databases
  • Must be proficient with working independently while maintaining and applying working knowledge of PSEG Standards of Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
  • Assist with special projects as necessary.

  

Required Skills, Education, Experience and Competencies:

 

  • B.S. degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years experience related to Project Management of construction, HVAC or mechanical projects in Industrial or Commercial sectors.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated software (Excel & MS Word) and database skills.
  • Commitment to process and attention to detail are critical skill.s
  • Operational decision making skills, strong analytical ability, strong problem solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to multi task and maintain high performance during periods of change and drive high standards for individual and organizational performance. 
  • Excellent teamwork and facilitation skills. 
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, communications skills, and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and approval.
  • Ability to develop solid working relationships with peers and individuals in other areas by understanding their perspectives and issues.Because the job requires driving to company locations to conduct meetings with customers and constituents and manage relationships with contractors as well as attending off-site assignments and events, the selected individual must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

Desired Skills, Education, Experience and Competencies:

 

  • M.S. degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with financial statements performance measurement and analysis and SAP desired.
  • Seven (7) years experience related to Project Management of construction, HVAC or mechanical projects in Industrial or Commercial sectors.
  • Ability to approach change positively and remain focused on results.
  • Manage self – awareness, demonstrate ethics and integrity and align performance for success and build organizational talent.
