PSEG is seeking an Intern within the Health and Safety team at our Newark NJ location.

 

The successful candidate will perform functions in support of a number of areas including but not limited to:

Support the employee's grassroots safety councils. Support the update of the Health & Safety Management System Standards and Component Updates.

Assist with the documenting and implementation of the Safety Information Management System Upgrade.

As well as supporting the Enterprise Health and Safety System: Collaborating with Operations, Safety Councils and Safety Analytics across PSEG to improve culture and performance.

Meeting facilitation support for Enterprise-wide initiatives such as Prevention thru Design, OSHA Safety Process, etc.

Support the medical, industrial hygienist, compliance, and scorecard keepers as appropriate.

 

Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Health Sciences, HR, or similar related major with a minimum GPA of 3.0 Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. GPA information MUST be included on your resume for employment consideration. .
 

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer period for the full 10-12 week period. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students with GPA of 3.0, staying in the NJ/NY/PA metro area for the duration of the internship and able to commute to the assigned work location. Housing, transportation, immigration Support will not be provided in association with these positions.

 

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
