Job Summary

PSEG Nuclear Business Unit (NBU) is looking for an Associate Voice Network Engineer with thorough knowledge of fundamental networking concepts and telecommunications systems to include Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and telephony systems, hands-on experience with network troubleshooting, as well as voice architecture design and implementation. The Associate Voice Network Engineer will focus on design, install, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the NBU voice network.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities are:
•    Assists with the design, development, configuration, and testing of voice technology solutions to meet business or technology requirements.  
•    Collaborates with other IT professionals to ensure proper integration of new technology solutions within the existing technology solutions.
•    Provides support toward resolution of escalated support tickets.  

Specific responsibilities include:
•    Evaluates existing voice technology solutions and platforms to provide recommendations for improving technology performance.
•    Collaborates with all stakeholders such as enterprise architects, software development, operations, cybersecurity, and infrastructure to integrate applications and hardware.
•    Ensures that the design and technology solution implementation meet security and QA standards. 

 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences, or a related field and 2 or more years of relevant experience supporting voice operations and/or voice engineering.  
•    Without a bachelor’s degree, must have at least 6 years of relevant experience supporting voice operations and/or voice engineering.  
•    Understanding of network architecture and integration with voice systems. 
•    VOIP/networking experience 
•    Telecommunications systems installation, maintenance, and repair experience

•    Master’s degree in STEM field for voice/networking support
•    Experience with mission critical technology solutions
•    CCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, and/or CompTIA Security + preferred
