Job Summary

Sourcing professional with primary responsibility for managing the strategic equipment and materials acquisition plan that optimizes total cost solutions for select category groupings of non-fuel external supplier spend. Categories generally encompass annual spend of approximately $30-75 million. This position supports the development and implementation of multi-year strategic plans, aligned to operational goals that identify maximum value contribution to Enterprise. Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing category plans with spend in both specific lines of business and across Enterprise. A Category Leader will manage several equipment and material sub-categories.
This position is an individual contributor role.

Job Responsibilities

Develops and oversees supplier management initiatives to drive continuous improvement in all PSEG/supplier contracts. Manages supplier performance tracking and joint improvement processes. Develops and executes supplier development plans and key strategic alliances.
•Supports the creation of multi-year strategic commodity plans (for up to 10 specific commodities) based on profiling of category spend history and forecasts, performing marketplace review and analysis, identification of business partner needs, evaluation of resource availability, and prioritization of sourcing opportunities.
•Leads sourcing process activities of strategic sourcing teams, requests for proposals and bid evaluations, with direct oversight of team performance.
•Establishes and executes measurement and tracking plan to monitor business partner and supplier compliance to negotiated agreements. Reports non-compliance activities and effects corrective action where necessary.
•Quantifies, validates and reports cost reductions and other qualitative results from individual sourcing activities in support of the strategic commodity plan.
•Interfaces with business strategists across all business units to develop client needs assessments and establish sourcing strategies that are in alignment with organizations business plans and goals.

Job Specific Qualifications

• •B.S/B.A Degree, preferably in business, finance, supply chain, or relevant field and a minimum 3 years of procurement, category management, contract management, or strategic sourcing experience.
•Without a degree, 7 years of procurement, category management, contract management, or strategic sourcing experience.
•Candidate must demonstrate experience/familiarity with material and service category management, contract management, and supplier management 
•Strong analytical, market analysis and cost modeling skills 
•Team facilitation, presentation and team leadership skills 
•Must have experience with and the potential to lead large complex work teams and projects across business units 
•Strong change management (people and process) skills and business partner relationship skills 
•Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to make clear and concise presentations in front of large audiences 
•Thorough knowledge of contract terms and strong negotiation skills 
•Strong computer skills: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•Candidate ability to obtain Nuclear Unescorted Access
Desired:
•Masters in business, finance, supply chain, or scientific field. 
•Knowledge of SAP, Ariba, MS Office including Access, Microsoft Project, Lean Six Sigma, e-sourcing and e-procurement application a plus
