THIS IS A PROJECT POSITION:

This is a “Project” position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director Level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment. 

 

This professional should be a results-oriented and data-driven individual with high-level technical skills. They should be intellectually curious, well-rounded, and able to explain highly technical concepts to non-technical counterparts.

• Work closely with Product Owners or Group Product Managers to understand business needs.

• Participate in interdisciplinary teams to develop product enhancements within an agile framework, which satisfy stakeholder needs.

• Build complex quantitative algorithms to organize and synthesize large amounts of information used to answer questions and drive strategy.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects and infrastructure teams in the development and support of successful products.

• Discover stakeholder requirements, design, develop and test products to satisfy needs. Perform build versus buy analysis to satisfy functional requirements.

• Ensure that established standards for: quality, reliability and security are adhered to across the product lifecycle

• Resolve emergent issues based on root cause analysis, and an understanding of the impact of the solution.

 

Required Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:

 

• BSc in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Information Sciences

• 3 or more years’ experience in the development and support of data heavy applications.

• Demonstrated Experience: discovering stakeholder requirements, modeling business processes, developing and supporting applications in a time and resource constrained environment.

• Ability: to work independently and multi-task effectively, to accept changes in priorities as necessary, and to learn new business and technical concepts.

• Excellent problem solving skills.

• Languages (proficiency in at least 2): .Net(C#, F#, VB), SQL (T SQL, PL SQL), R, Python, Java, C, XML

• Databases (familiarity with at least 2): MS SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access, Cassandra, Aurora, Postgres, MongoDB.

 

Desired Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:

 

• AWS Certification

• Demonstrated experience:

 - Developing decision supporting displays driven by complex data

 - Developing: descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics

 - Migrating legacy applications to cloud host environments
