Job Summary

This is a "Project" position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

Job Responsibilities

The Sr. Contract Analyst provides technical and analytical expertise and administrative support in the area of contract management. General responsibilities include coordinating with technical personnel to develop scopes of work, participating in the RFP process, assisting in contract negotiations, managing day-to-day contract administration, interfacing with appropriate stakeholders to resolve contractual disputes, and overseeing contract closeout. Typical work activities include: reviewing contracts to identify key company rights and vendor obligations; preparing contract summaries and advising on contract terms; reviewing and processing change orders and contract amendments; ensuring receipt of contract deliverables; coordinating vendor evaluations; and communicating with PSEG Services Corporation partners in Procurement, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Tax, etc. as needed. The Sr. Contract Analyst will also provide guidance on applicable corporate policies and procedures and will assist in continuous improvement initiatives to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities. The Sr. Contract Analyst must demonstrate teamwork, and be able to work both independently as well as collaboratively and cooperatively with others, leading and following as needed.

 

Job Specific Qualifications

Essential: 

  • BS/BA or advanced degree in business, law, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; or a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in contract administration/management and contract interpretation
  • Analytical ability, business sense, skilled in computer applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have valid U. S drivers’ license and maintain a satisfactory driving record

Desirable: 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or other formal legal training
  • Knowledge of electric and/or gas field operations
  • Experience in a project, construction or industrial business environment
  • General knowledge of energy efficiency programs with a utility focus
  • General knowledge of uniform commercial code and contract law
  • General knowledge of FIDIC contracts 
  • Experience negotiating contract disputes
  • Business and technical writing experience
  • Experience with:
    • SAP
    • Ariba 
    • CLM (SAP Sourcing)
    • Sharepoint 
    • McLaren  
    • Aconex
    • PowerAdvocate
