Job Summary

This opportunity is open to current PSEG employees only.

This is a second level management position in the Electric T&D Organization (Vegetation Management). Responsible for providing oversight for all financial aspects of vegetation management projects.  This individual will provide support for various projects within vegetation management, including monthly financial reports, regulatory reporting, and personnel tracking. 

Job Responsibilities

Supervise environmental professionals, including developing performance expectations, providing feedback and preparing employee performance reviews. Generating and maintaining the performance metrics (milestones and budget) for projects, and interfacing with senior management. Prepare Initiate, and Execute budgets, financial forecast, work schedule, and regulatory programs for the internal & external work force.  Coordinate environmental contractor activities/oversight efforts, establish and deploy required training, review performance through the completion of contractor quality assessments and site inspections to ensure the work is being completed in compliance with required procedures and established regulatory requirements. Achieve the desired results of the Electric T & D Organization (Vegetation Management) with PSEG values and tools, sound management practices and skills and a total commitment to teamwork. Assist existing project teams in the emergency response for major events. Oversee the activities of all Vegetation Management associates (PSE&G and contractor) to ensure safe and efficient activities of outside plant facilities. Manage the construction environmental portion of all outside plant electric transmission facilities regarding vegetation management activities. Assist in the training and development of personnel. Promote safety principles. Counsel associates, as required. Assign and direct work to accomplish the desired results in a safe, efficient and expeditious manner. Must be willing to respond outside of normal hours.  Ability to layout/supervise the work of others. Ability to train/instruct personnel in work practices and use of tools and equipment. Must utilize ability to recognize unusual conditions and take corrective action.

Job Specific Qualifications

Essential:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Comprehensive knowledge of utility procurement processes and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of State and Federal regulations applicable to electric utility vegetation management.
  • Knowledge of applicable ANSI (American National Standards Institute) OSHA, and environmental best management practices regarding vegetation management activities.
  • Must have a valid US driver's license and maintain a safe driving record
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications, i.e. MS Office Suite.
  • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity
  • The candidate must be able to obtain the Certified Arborist and Utility Specialist certifications with the International Society of Arboriculture within 3 years.
  • Expected to obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, if not already certified.

Desired:

Advanced Computer application knowledge.
Three plus years of experience in the support of utility vegetation management activities.
