Job Responsibilities

Perform electrical construction supervisory responsibilities for major new, replacement and upgraded electric facilities for the Outside Plant Construction Group in the Projects and Construction (P&C) Organization. Directly supervise, i.e., responsible for performance reviews of Construction Specialists and contractors, including planning, scheduling of assigned work and growth/development for area of responsibility. Manage and coordinate the work of multiple contractors and trades on multiple projects. Resolve Contractor conflicts, schedule issues and labor disputes. Drive/promote safety throughout the job site and ensure environmental compliance. Interface with governmental agencies for regulatory compliance with permitting and licensing requirements. Direct the installation of outside plant major electrical equipment, cabling and condiut. Provide daily job site inspection of work to ensure completion in accordance with established designs, specifications and PSE&G/industry standards. Complete construction reports, Contractor billing, in-service reports, Contractor/vendor evaluations, forecasting, accruals and project close-out reports. Perform on-call duties and provide emergency response and restoration during major weather events. Participate in bid evaluations and the Contractor selection process. Must complete necessary training and qualify to hold an assignment in PSE&G’s Tagging System

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • High School with minimum of eight (8) years of relevant knowledge and experience in electric distribution design / engineering, operations, maintenance or construction
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in civil construction/outside plant, and preferable in underground construction
  • Working knowledge and experience of computer-based business applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Previous leadership, supervisory and contractor oversight experience.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills

Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid U.S. driver’s 
license with a safe and satisfactory driver history

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
