Job Summary

The position will lead the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) function for PSE&G’s Projects & Construction department of the Utility. This position is responsible for the development and execution of QA/QC. This independent group is to ensure that all Corporate and Department Policy and Procedures related to the execution of P&C Projects and other departmental work are followed. The policy/procedures include all facets of the P&C Projects. The Manager will develop and execute annual self- assessment plan (identification of activity needed, schedule for each activity and resource scheduling. The plan will be reviewed and approved by Manager QA/QC & Performance Measurement and department Director(s) and/or Vice President.

The plan includes a combination of office and field activities. The field component will include field surveillance inspections to ensure vendor compliance with contract requirements, especially the technical specifications, but also includes other field PSE&G policies and Procedures, including safety and environmental compliance. The “office” work includes verification that procedures related to Program design, document control, invoice control, and general schedule and cost control efforts are effectively followed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead QA/QC Team engagement with P&C Management 
  • Develop and lead the P&C annual QA/QC Plan and oversee the execution of the Plan
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight of direct and indirect reports engaged in P&C QA/QC day-to-day activities
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external audits, compliance, assessment groups and consultants 
  • Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration and a learning organization
  • Maintain confidentiality as required
  • Support QA/QC Team risk assessment and audit functions across P&C portfolio
  • Manage QA/QC Team to lead engagement with Internal Audit
  • Manage QA/QC Team  to develop lessons learned reports and interface with P&C Management to ensure reasonable action plans are implemented 
  • Oversee preparation of ad hoc financial and operational analysis , management reports, and presentations
  • Oversee P&C’s Document Control function, including ensuring P&C’s internal Procedures and Reference Manual are cyclically updated as well as ensuring ad-hoc updates are incorporated on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of utility industry experience and/or auditing experience
  • Minimum 5 year of auditing, accounting and/or finance experience

 

Education

  • Bachelor in Finance, Engineering or Accounting

 

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA finance and/or CPA, CIA, PMP (or significant progress towards completion of certification) r with knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and the ability to analyze operations and make sound judgments with limited information.  
  • Experience in Construction & equipment Inspection & Quality Management system Auditing (assessments)
  • Track record of managing complex multi-disciplined teams and projects.
