Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.
Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.
Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.
Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary
PSE&G’s strategic growth organization is leading the next phase of business development and expansion within the utility. The Manager – Utility Modernization and Growth identifies, investigates and assesses growth opportunities that align with PSEG growth strategy, and helps to assess their viability from a strategic and financial perspective. Develops and maintains effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Prepares and presents information to senior leadership for consideration of opportunities for strategic business planning.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops and leads the growth strategy, prioritization, and plan for creating new growth opportunities up to execution for the PSE&G Utility business. Identifies, analyzes, and compares alternative opportunities for entering new markets and adopting new technologies. Anticipates opportunities and trends in the business line, market sector, and adjacent market sector.
- Performs project management functions by partnering with cross-functional teams comprised of individuals from Finance, Valuation/M&A, Legal, Engineering, L&P, Operations and Construction to assess potential opportunities. Works collaboratively with the leaders of these organizations to ensure high performance and continuous learning in both directions. Presents opportunities to Directors and Utility Officers.
- Develops and maintains effective strategic relationships with all key stakeholders including industry contacts, potential external business partners, senior leadership and relevant political and regulatory bodies.
- Develops a deep understanding of PSE&G's business model and competitive positioning as well as the federal and state requirements to inform recommendations through benchmarking, research groups, and Utility industry committee participation.
- Participates in speaking and industry engagements including conferences, communities of interest, professional associations, etc.
- Oversees the Utility benchmarking team
- Develops and maintains an environment that promotes diversity, integrity, team work, and excellence that enables PSEG to be the leader in developing, owning, operating and maintaining safe and reliable utility assets in the U.S. Ensures employees are engaged, motivated and aligned in their efforts through active engagement, listening, acknowledgement and timely, constructive feedback. Job Specific Qualifications
- BA/BS degree
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in either M&A/Business Development or Finance or related experience
- Knowledge of New Jersey regulatory framework
- Experience in the utility/energy sector
- Strong financial skills
- Proven team player
- Excellent written (including PowerPoint) and oral communications skills
- Ability to establish oneself to management as the subject matter expert and provide sound advice and guidance
- Ability to take lead in project management and prioritize tasks
- Proven ability to influence others
- Willing to challenge others but in a constructive, objective way
- Ability to work with employees at all levels
Desired:
- Advanced degree in finance or MBA a plus.
- Experience conducting strategic and financial analyses.
- Understands the rules around competitive transmission growth for the RTO/ISO organizations and in non-ISO markets
