This is a “Project” position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3-5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.

This is a position in the Delivery Project and Construction – Inside Plant Construction Group.

Note: This is a multi-level growth series position that is posted for the Construction Support Specialist level. The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to
the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience learned through the interview process.

 

Position description:

Perform construction support of inside plant construction project work and provide technical assistance through the application of engineering/business knowledge.  Support the construction process to improve the coordination of material and equipment delivery. Provide assistance to field locations to verify receipt of equipment and/or material. Provide technical support to Construction Specialists, Relay Supervisors and Commissioning Engineers. Provide Safety and Environmental oversight for complex construction activities. Provide daily job site inspection of work to ensure completion in accordance with established designs and procedures. Manage the timely processing of field generated in-service and closeout reports. Ensure Contractor compliance with respect to proper invoicing and processing for payment in accordance with Company Policy.  Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical), or equivalent experience as follows:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Electrical systems analysis for Construction Support Specialist.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical systems analysis for Sr. Construction Support Specialist.
Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history. 

• Exhibit knowledge of computer based engineering and business applications.
• Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.

 

Desired:

• Experienced in Electrical Inside Plant Design, Engineering, construction or maintenance.
• Knowledge of Relay systems and Control wiring.
• Experience with procurement and Invoice processing.
