PSE&G is seeking a three (3) to eight (8) month co-op  working in the Environmental Projects and Services Department at 4000 Hadley Road, South Plainfield to assist Environmental Compliance Managers with environmental compliance matters supporting the Gas Utility and Environmental Oversight activities.  The position will support the Environmental Compliance Managers and potentially Senior Environmental Specialists for program process improvements and also  with environmental compliance activities throughout the state, in addition to assisting with special projects for process improvements. 
The position's responsibilities include: Assist the Environmental Projects and Services Department in preparing and maintaining documentation for environmental compliance including: 1.)  chemical analysis and environmental and regulatory reports; 2.) Assist in the development of spreadsheets and databases for the tracking of regulatory and compliance data; 3.) Assist the Environmental Compliance Manager with data management with respect to program management improvements; 4.) Assist the Senior Environmental Specialists with daily compliance activities such as inspections,environmental log development and maintenance, and regulatory compliance issues; 5.) Interact with other company departments, contractors and consultants to support environmental projects; 6.) Prepare charts, presentations, process flow diagrams, guidance documents.  Candidate should have the desire to work in the environmental field focused on operations and compliance .
Required: The applicant must be an student pursuing a BS degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering; or a BS degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Geology from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  PSE&G recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.  The Applicant must have good written and oral communication skills, be able to meet deadlines, be well organized, client focused, and demonstrate teamwork.  Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint is needed.  In addition, the applicant must posses and maintain a valid driver's license, have a safe driving record and personal transportation.  


As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
