This job involves working as an engineer in the Projects and Construction team, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices acquired through previous coursework and on the job training. Assignments may include but are not limited to:

Outage Planning

Inside Plant Construction

Outside Plant Construction

Design

Project Management

Transmission Construction and Maintenance

Outside Plant Project Engineering

Transmission Growth

Electric Operations

 

Locations may include:

South Plainfield, Somerset, Lawrenceville, Secaucus, Moorestown, Clifton, Newark

 

Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Structural, Construction, Civil) or similar related major. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Because this position will be travelling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record is required.

Preferred: 3.0GPA

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the internship. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students in the NJ/NY/PA metro area for the duration of the internship and able to commute to the assigned work location. Housing, transportation, immigration Support will not be provided in association with these positions.

 

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
