Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

​DUTIES
 
Performs the work required in construction, operation, inspection, maintenance, installation and removal of the overhead transmission plant as qualified through formalized and/or on the job training. Work includes maintenance of transmission plant energized at nominal voltages up to and including 500 kV. In addition, perform other similar or less skilled work of the occupational group.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS 
Must meet the Company’s “General Requirements”; and, in addition: 
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to climb and work on steel structures and towers.
- Must have the ability to learn to read construction prints and make simple field sketches.
- Must have the ability to learn the application of hoists and tackle and of the use and care of tools used in tower line construction and maintenance work.
- Must have the ability to successfully complete live line maintenance training.
- Must be alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
- Must be familiar with the procedure and rules governing the ordering out, tagging and releasing of circuits designation and of field tagging for identification.
- Must have the ability to perform difficult heavy work aloft.
- Must have general knowledge of the purpose and functioning of the transmission system.
- Must be familiar with the standard construction of the various types of towers and hardware assemblies, and with safety rules and practices applicable to the work.
- Should have practical knowledge of the strength and stresses of material used in steel towers and structures.
- Must have knowledge of rigging and the use of rope and tackle.
- Must be familiar with testing and grounding methods.
- Must be proficient in the application of approved methods of artificial respiration.
- Must have successfully passed the CAST test administered by PSEG.
- Must have a valid U.S driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

- Must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a manual endorsement within 6 months of employment in this role.
