Job Summary

Position serves as PSE&G's Manager Measurement Systems for Smart Meter Operations Center.  Reports to Manager Revenue Measurement & Protection.

Job Responsibilities

  • This position will manage and lead the Smart Meter Operations Center (SMOC) team in day-to-day responsibilities of AMI meter data collection, processing, and distribution, as well as real time integrations to other lines of business. This position will be responsible for the AMI Head End System, the Meter Data Management System, and the people working within those systems. Lead the group through day-to-day work activities, as well as provide support during storms, weekends, and holidays when needed. There is the possibility that the SMOC will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week to support operations if needed. Responsible for managing system updates, upgrades, and coordinating across lines of business during integrated system outages.
  • Partner and work directly with representatives from all lines of business including Customer Care, Electric Distribution, Gas Distribution, Settlement, Solar, Customer Technology, Collections, OMS, RID, and more to accomplish company wide goals.
  • This position will manage a group of supervisors, data systems administrators, and/or data systems analysts that support the AMI systems and processes.
  • Work with outside vendors of metering systems, manage relationships and help develop and integrate new products and metering solutions.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate a diverse workforce to ensure work is done safely and efficiently to maximize operational effectiveness and achieve department targets.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental, team and individual performance in an effort to drive efficiency, process improvements and achieve scorecard targets.
  • Mentor and develop new associates. Motivate, coach and develop personnel towards high levels of performance and/ or technical competence.
  • Achieve operational excellence and safe work behaviors through leadership, teamwork and effective communication.
  • Apply knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectation for effective internal business controls. Support storm or other peak workload events.
  • Ensure a safe working environment.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 9 years of experience working with Metering.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge/experience in meter data collection and processing.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate high performing teams.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make decisions, proactively resolve system issues, ability to provide long/short term operational and performance improvement issue resolutions.
  • Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA.
  • Knowledge of the meter to cash process.
  • Experience managing processes or programs across different lines of business.
