Job Summary

This position plays a key role in the governance and oversight of a line of business balanced scorecard process while supporting the Line of Business, PSEG Long Island and Operating Services Agreement scorecard reporting. This position will also support the governance and oversight of the Utility Benchmarking process. The Sr./Lead Performance Measurement Lead will They will.   Interface personally with executive Leadership, process owners and management to support performance management and tracking performance versus contractual standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide analytical and functional support in the governance of the balanced scorecard, related initiatives, analytics, relationships, benchmarking, diagnostics, and process adherence
• Lead the scorecard quality review process and process documentation efforts in support of process excellence and complete assigned quarterly, monthly and weekly reporting requirements
• Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and Tableau data visualization files, etc.
• Support the benchmarking efforts, target setting and goal development process inclusive of MICP, PIP, scorecard, Division, District, or functional level targets and goals
• Analyze operations data and make recommendations for improvement
• Prepare and publish monthly scorecard metrics and balanced scorecard documentation
• Provide analytical and functional support in the governance of the balanced scorecard, related initiatives, analytics, relationships, benchmarking, diagnostics, process adherence
 

 

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education, Competencies and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Statistics, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of analytical experience
• Demonstrated organization and high level of analytical and quantitative analysis skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Products - Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with creation of data visualizations utilizing data visualization software (Tableau, Microsoft BI, etc.)
• Experience in data mining, database development, or programming
• Demonstrated ability to develop new approaches with applicable tools to measure success.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong client relationships at all levels
• Must be able to obtain and act on feedback for all elements of the balanced scorecard process
• Demonstrated experience promoting team effectiveness by soliciting input from team members, communicating expectations of the team and delegating responsibilities while providing support and structure
• Demonstrated ability to work across department boundaries
• This position may require travel to various work locations


Preferred Education, Competencies and Skills
•  MBA or advanced degree in decision sciences or related field or progress towards one
• Working knowledge of utility key performance indicators and drivers
• Experience in industry benchmarking groups and studies
• Experience automating process leveraging technology
• Comfort with making presentations; public speaking skills
• Ability to design and develop internal systems and scripts to acquire data that can be used to enhance and automate the business process
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with data science tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS) to develop automation and predictive analysis

This is a multi-level growth series position, the title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.

If an internal candidate is selected they will move laterally at their current grade level and will not be eligible for a promotion at the time of accepting this position. This applies to candidates moving within the same career path (e.g., analyst, supervisor, engineer), or to a different career path (e.g., analyst to engineer, supervisor to analyst). The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be promoted within the career path during an annual review.
