Summer Interns: College students are hired based on strategic university recruiting needs as identified on an annual basis. The intern period is a minimum of 10 weeks, beginning June 3, 2019 and ending Mid- August.
 

Duties include (but not limited to):

 

  • Perform legal research on PSC policies and orders and REV related issues
  • Gather and analyze statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other data
  • Prepare and track real estate closing checklists and transactional documentation from letter of intent through completion of closing binders.
  • Prepare pleadings
  • Review and summarize articles, etc. on commercial law and energy law topics of interest and source publications
  • Review Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreements under negotiation, and discuss proposed revisions and strategies regarding same.

 

Education and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current law student who has completed by June 2019 at least their first year of law school (or evening student equivalent).
  • Law school GPA OF 3.2 or above
  • Grade of B+ or above in legal research and writing course
  • Proficient in the use of Westlaw
  • Ability to complete legal research and writing assignments within established deadlines and with minimal or moderate guidance.
  • Ability to research and articulate the law on a wide variety of legal subjects, with the understanding that this research may be used by practicing attorneys in their representation of the company.
  • Undergraduate BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
  • This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
