Assist in the development, implementation and day to day administration of PSEG Long Island’s employee benefit plans, including oversight of outsourced vendors to resolve escalated issues, implement plan changes and improvements, and monitor service levels. Ensure that such programs are compliant within regulatory and plan provisions, and administered appropriately. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting with benefits communications, third-party vendor management (including monitoring service levels), legal and regulatory compliance, reporting and analysis (and labor relations support for union Health and Welfare programs and employee education. Conducts New Hire On-Boarding, Annual Enrollment meetings and benefit informational visits to company sites as needed


Required Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Benefits
  • Working Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA and other regulatory provisions impacting Health & Welfare and Retirement plans
  • Ability to interpret and apply Plan provisions appropriately, as related to Health & Welfare Plans
  • Experience with third-party vendor management and interaction.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Analytical skills required.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills, including written and oral communication skills.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources products, services, and processes.
  • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.
  • Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.
  • Light travel on Long Island and to Newark, NJ required
  • This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

  • Thorough knowledge of benefit programs, policies and procedures.
  • Vendor relations/management skills.
